Who We Are Project Book is a non-profit public charity dedicated to promoting literacy and education.
Telephone: 401-334-4450 Project Book consists of six professionals who are primarily educators and have a very real interest in promoting literacy and helping people of all ages and circumstances to find reading materials of their interest. Francis L. Myers is the founder and president of Project Book. He holds Masters Degrees from Boston College and Northeastern University. He has taught classes for the Boston College Department of Education Psychology and co-authored an experiential education book entitled, "Where The World Is." Contact Len at support@projectbook.org Terry McMichael is a high school history and government teacher in Cumberland, RI. She became interested in this project when a colleague began to donate books to her own students and found that no matter how many books she brought to the school and whatever the subject the books were quickly scooped up by students throughout the school. She has since found that all kinds of organizations welcome such donations, including churches, elderly living facilities, high school libraries, and libraries who are preparing fund raising book sales. You can contact Terry through her email at terry@projectbook.org Erin Madeira graduated from Dartmouth College in 2000 having majored in human geography. With this keen interest in the development of human societies she led a two and one half year expedition around the world for an on-line education organization based in New York City called "Reach The World." She has a special interest in experiential learning through sea based programs and has worked with the Sea Education Association as well as on the Tole Moure which brought young Hawaiian delinquents to sea on the 175 foot schooner. She is a fully licensed 100 ton captain and today is conducting research in Indonesia as a Fulbright Scholar. Contact Erin at erin@projectbook.org Patricia Morgan is a former ESL elementary school teacher and currently teaches second grade in Woonsocket, RI. Trish has always tried hard to connect children whose second language is English with appropriate books. If a child loves to read it will be much easier to learn the English language. Reach her at trish@projectbook.org. Michael Myers is our youngest associate and has an absolute passion for books. Currently, he is living in Portland, Oregon but was influential in helping formulate the project. Reach him at michael@projectbook.org. Ben Myers graduated from Hamilton College in 2000 with the dual majors, English and Computer Science. He started out in high tech in California but soon began teaching English to Japanese people doing business in the U.S. Eventually, he signed a two year contract to teach elementary and Junior High School in Akagi, Japan. Having recently returned home to the U.S. he currently is in the process of creating a web development business. Reach him at ben@projectbook.org.
